Created through lockdown and inspired by experiences in the seaside town of Boscombe, Dorset, 'Boscombe Bound' shares voices of the community, evoking the unique sense of this location and time.
"This very particular moment of our shared history has been captured in a very human way. Full of care, sensitive observation and quiet contemplation." – Jasmine O’Hare, the Arts Development Company.
Boscombe Bound was developed across a 4 month period, involving continuous research working with and within the Boscombe community to create a piece that could provide contrast against the negative press that the area is so often associated with.
Hosted by Laura Mulhern, we talked through the research and creation process behind this work during a free online event on 8th April 2021.
Boscombe Bound returned to the community for public screening during the BEAF festival, and through this was exhibited in the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe in July 2021, and then in the B.A.D Gallery in Boscombe in Sept-Oct 2021, with an artist talk on Sept 25th.
