Working with Poole Communities Trust on this NHS initiative in partnership with Community Action Network (CAN) and Public Health Dorset, the ‘Access to Healthcare’ project explores potential barriers to attending NHS appointments, and what may be done to overcome them. Attending discussion groups with 29 people from community settings in Poole, (Bourne, Branksome and Turlin Moor), sketches were created live, while voices were recorded and transcribed to shape outcomes.
A series of thirteen themed illustrations support feedback forms and statistics gathered during discussion groups, to be presented at community gatherings in Summer 2024. With the aim of assisting in informing healthcare system process changes, personality and relatability encourages a more meaningful, authentic and memorable connection with the study.
